qultig

qultig (pronounced [kʊlˈtɪk]) is a small web app I made to learn about full-stack web development. With qultig, you can take fun quizzes on paintings from the 14th to 19th century and explore beautiful artwork along the way. For interested users, additional information (e.g., date, style of art, and location) is provided after each question. The app’s name is a portmanteau of the words ‘quiz’ and ‘kultig’ (German for iconic).

The app is served by the light-weight Python web server Flask. Data I collected from the Web Gallery of Art (which is freely available for educational purposes) is stored in a SQlite database. The front-end is based on the libraries Bootstrap and jQuery. The source code is available on github.
